So that caterpillar I found some months back? It pupated long ago, and I thought it died in the cocoon. I started to clean out the container he was in...

And it started moving. o_o

I'll be watching after him for the next couple hours. Go little guy!

A lot of thinking done in the past week, and a possible digression in career path to look forward to.

Currently at work, putzing around. I like having the cardiology department to myself at night, it reminds me of late-nights at the art studio.

So my last few projects were put on hold in favor of a new project -- with a deadline! Wizards of the Coast announced a story extraction illustration contest a couple weeks back via TheArtOrder.com. The artist can select from a number of excerpts from stories to illustrate. Mine features a steampunk setting -- a strongly atmospheric landscape painting. I've never done one before, so this'll be fun. Due August 28th. Wish me luck.

Also, I found out about a neat opportunity. I very well may be heading into the medical field on a more permanent basis. A program for surgical technologists opened up. It could be a great chance to learn some more anatomy and phsyio, provide a secure job, give me a firmer basis for my medical illustration, and rake in several metric shit tons of money. Whoo!

So I've learned about my next big purchase: Star Wars GPS. Thank you, NPR! You always keep me up-to-date.

I have a few big projects lined up that I'm looking forward to. Me and some friends working on two big things together, plus I'mma be filling in my portfolio in the coming month. And a belated birthday present -- a fun spin on portraiture, as per my habit.

And now to pass out. My everything aches. Being thrown off a dock, it does things to a man.

I finished out five years at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Booyah, I'm no longer an art student - but an artist!

And by that I mean I'm a starving artist... well, I prefer the term "Arting Starvist."

Employment feels good.
